Introducing Malone Souliers’ AW24 Pre-Collection – an embodiment of modernity, heritage and sophistication that together compose the Italian sensibility

For Malone Souliers, every trip to Italy is a design pilgrimage; from cascading marble staircases and the labyrinthian streets built of stone slabs to the graceful lines that form its traditional furniture. AW24 takes inspiration from the golden era of mid-century Italian architecture and the radical influence of the era’s design icons: Gio Ponti, Carlo Scarpa and Gae Aulenti amongst others. These designers moved beyond traditional materials to experiment with the unconventional, and it’s this transition that forms the foundation of the season’s warm and classic pale”e

The intimate campaign depicts a well-lived Milanese apartment as the backdrop for a personal and elegant portrayal of a woman and her cherished collection of shoes and bags. So, natural and diffused lighting sets a familiar tone, highlighting the contrasts of the materials while a feel of femininity and grace is reimagined through fresh flowers in full bloom, rich in colour layered over and under the collection’s hero styles.

Set against marble and wood, the Collins slingback and the Cristi mule present an exploration of material play, rendered in glossy patent or croc-embossed leather and semi-sheer mesh details. The Julia and Manu mules in bi-colour raffia echo the texture of the woven leather chair.

The Yuna sandal and Yola mules nestle gracefully against the smooth curves of glass vases which mirror their streamlined silhoue”e. A homely and intimate feeling envelopes the pointy Hayes pump; with its flat design and block heel, an epitome of comfort and simplicity. Embellished with a statement crest featuring gleaming embedded crystals is the Mona, an elegant party slipper inspired by the classic Missy, and set upon a straight stile”o heel.

Both quotidian and playful gestures are captured in the shots of the Tecla pump, Taron mule and Tanner slingback: slipped off on the carpet or hanging from a lamp – synthesising the geometry of the season’s architectural references.

 To accompany the line-up of new footwear icons, the Audrey bag returns in small and mini sizes, newly updated with elevated details and lightened for everyday ease. Introduced specially for the new season is the Vittoria, a so and tactile clutch constructed from hand-draped satin and velvet for an interesting play on proportions and silhoue”e.

“This campaign is our love le”er to Italian cra and design, which we have long deeply admired; it has always been a huge inspiration behind our design ethos”, explain Coco Fong and Valerio Bava, Malone Souliers’ Co[1]Creative Directors. “The collection feels especially personal to us this time, and we wanted to portray this feeling in the images.”

The Malone Souliers AW24 Pre-Collection will launch on June 4th 2024 at MaloneSouliers.com and Harrods concession in Shoe Heaven.
