Reel Cinemas Hosts Region’s First Autism-Friendly Movie Premiere with “Mountain Boy”

The highly anticipated screening featured specially adapted sensory settings inside the cinema, including dimmed lighting, reduced sound levels, and a welcoming, supportive atmosphere, ensuring a comfortable experience for all attendees.

A story of courage, belonging, and acceptance, Mountain Boy follows Suhail, a young Emirati boy with autism, who seeks refuge in the mountains of Fujairah after being shunned by his father, who fails to understand his physical and mental challenges. Suhail’s journey becomes an emotional quest for identity and acceptance, accompanied by Lacie, the award-winning dog who stars in the film and made a special appearance at the premiere, and Barakah, an Arabian Saluki.
