BALLY INTRODUCES THE BELLE — A NEW BAG INSPIRED BY ITS ALPINE HERITAGE
Following its showcase on the Spring/Summer 2024 runway, Bally is now pleased to launch the Belle family of bags and accessories. Inspired by the shape of a ubiquitous Swiss cowbell and its distinctive geometry, this line has become one of the most iconic from Creative Director Simone Bellotti’s debut collection.
Recalling the alpine landscapes of Switzerland, the symbolism behind the Belle ‘bell’ strongly connects with the identity of the brand.
There is an affinity with nature — this idea of a holistic communion with the environment, thus the mountains — that was the spirit of Monte Verità, a utopian haven of alternative intellectuals and creative souls, and served as the SS24 inspiration.
Inspired by the silhouette of a real cowbell, the Belle bag is comprised of a fancy charm that evokes Swiss tradition. It consists of a real small cowbell surrounded by a flared leather case enriched with the Bally logo on the front. The dark metal bell is decorated with an engraved Bally Crest, an heraldic logo being one of the most important signifiers for the brand since the very beginning of Bally’s history (19th century), as it was also the crest of Bally’s Family.
Highlighted as a hero style for the season, the Belle bag was shot in a historic villa by Olimpia Taliani de Marchio, a young Italian photographer who often depicts flowers in her work. Recalling the organic influences in the design of the collection, her style transports us into a poetic world of gentle lighting, romantic landscapes and delicate composition amidst a lush garden of conifers and ancient oaks.
Comprised of the key Belle bag and complimentary keychain charm and chic sunglasses holder, the line is available in black, cuero (a rich tan) and candy red leathers. The Belle bag can be worn across the body with a detachable strap, or held by hand. Representing the perfect balance between craftsmanship and unique design, the contrasting stitching that enrich the top corners of the bag are made by hand. This detail, that will be present on any future developments in this line, will also become a discrete signifier.
