MISSONI SPRING SUMMER 2026 SHOW BACKSTAGE

7.65KViews

Missoni, in Alberto Caliri’s vision, belongs to the everyday. He’s interested in ways and attitudes, which he Missionifies through relentless research into color and materials, interwoven in the vibrant and complex rhythm of patterns, imagining garments designed to be worn day after day, in real-life situations.

The horizon within which this collection expands is the seaside, meant not so much as the beach, rather as a flow of days spent in rapidly changing situations, of sudden occasions that move from the shore to the city and back again. This is all tied together with an idea of spontaneity: the pure instinct of dressing by mixing new pieces, inherited items, things found in a closet and immediately made one’s own: cardigans and blousons that belong to him, the striped shirt, the cashmere vest, the shorts, even the beach towel.

The stylistic gesture is resolute, and asserts as an identifying feature a silhouette reiterated from the previous season: voluminous and short, with bare legs. Everything gets shortened, until swim briefs replace trousers, which are otherwise shorts with rolled hems. The urge to shorten is pervasive: even textured sweaters and blazers expand at the shoulders and contract at the hem, while mini dresses become open-back t-shirts. The twinset is revamped, taking on the appearance of a vest coordinated with a small sundress.

A multitude of bags, carried all together to accommodate the day’s diverse needs, small berets, relaxed boots, flat shoes, and oversized jewelry.

An immediate collection, eschewing conventions and constraints, in a quintessentially Missoni way.
