Tadiwa Tendayi, Founder of Satiate Luxe

Tadiwa Tendayi (27) is the Founder of Satiate Luxe and a celebrated international chef with experience in several five-star hotels and award-winning restaurants. Born and raised in Harare, Zimbabwe, Tadiwa has been passionate about food since childhood, when she immersed herself in cookery books and TV shows and learnt how to express herself through creative cuisine.
Certain of the path she wished to pursue, Tadiwa left high school at 16 and dove headfirst into the culinary world, enrolling at the Southern African Training Company, where she graduated at the top of her class. She received further recognition after being chosen to compete in an intense competition, allowing her to represent Zimbabwe at the Young Chef Olympiad in Kolkata. Later, Tadiwa joined the prestigious Victoria Falls Hotel (part of the Leading Hotels of the World collection) before moving to Abu Dhabi as part of the pre-opening team for Tasha’s Al Bateen and then to Dubai with Avli by Tashas. Her experience also includes being a full-time chef for a professional sportsperson living in the UAE.
While reinforcing Tadiwa’s passion, her work highlighted a demand for restaurant-standard luxury without the hassle of leaving home. As a result, she launched Satiate Luxe in 2021 at the tender age of 23, to provide personalised at-home dining experiences and a sense of connection through food. The concept brings fine dining to people’s doors in different ways, including private chefs and gourmet meal plans. Drawing on Tadiwa’s expertise and insights, the team also supports hospitality companies in strengthening their brand, staying ahead, and increasing revenue in a highly competitive landscape.
One of the driving forces behind Tadiwa’s ambition is her commitment to increasing diversity, enabling more talented chefs to pursue their dreams in the fine dining sector. From an early age, Tadiwa noticed how few female chefs were spotlighted, and the statistics paint an equally stark picture: only around 21% of chefs and head cooks globally are female, and just 6% of Michelin-starred restaurants are led by women. What’s more, African chefs are significantly underrepresented. Effecting change in this area is one of the many ways Tadiwa is making waves.
