Lila Molino will mark Día de los Muertos, the cherished Mexican tradition that honours loved ones who have passed away, with a special menu inspired by the country’s heritage. Available from 28 October to 1 November at the Alserkal Avenue restaurant, the three-course set menu is priced at AED 165 per person.
Rooted in the flavours and traditions of Mexico, the menu begins with Tamale with Oaxacan Black Mole: an heirloom corn tamale filled with shredded chicken, steamed in a banana leaf and served tableside with Oaxacan black mole, toasted sesame seeds and sliced radish.
The main course, Classic Chicken Pozole, is a hearty stew of shredded chicken and puffed hominy corn in a smoky red chile broth. It is served with crunchy garnishes, corn tostadas, crushed árbol chile and fresh lime.
To finish, Pan de Muerto with Hot Chocolate pairs house-baked pan dulce with cinnamon hot chocolate from Oaxaca. Slightly sweetened and scented with orange blossom, the bread is finished with spiced sugar, offering a traditional taste of the season.

Order Take-Home Pan de Muerto
Pan de Muerto, or “bread of the dead”, is a traditional Mexican bread made for Día de los Muertos. It is placed on an ofrenda – a family altar prepared to honour loved ones, often with their photographs, candles, flowers and favourite foods – and shared among the living. The round loaf represents the cycle of life and death, while the dough placed across it evokes bones and the small piece at its centre, a skull.
Pan de Muerto will be available to pre-order throughout the week until 1 November. Individual pieces are priced at AED 28, or AED 100 for a box of four. Orders must be placed at least 24 hours in advance. To order, customers can DM Lila Molino on Instagram or call the restaurant.
