Combining an elegant stay with a self-guided itinerary and a memorable Cantonese dinner, the experience follows Lang Lang’s journey between Istanbul’s European and Asian sides.
Located along the European shore of the Bosphorus, Shangri-La Bosphorus, Istanbul provides a peaceful base from which to discover the city. Guests can stay in one of the hotel’s rooms or suites, many of which offer views across the water, before beginning a journey through the neighbourhoods and local spots that give Istanbul its distinctive character.
At the heart of the offer is the self-guided “East Meets West” experience for two. Accessed through a digital map via QR code, the journey begins with a ferry ride from Beşiktaş to Kadıköy, allowing guests to take in views of the city from the Bosphorus along the way. Once in Kadıköy, the map guides travellers through 10 handpicked stops across Istanbul’s Asian side. The itinerary introduces guests to local flavours, traditions and lesser-known places, providing a more personal way to experience the city beyond its most familiar landmarks.
The stay also includes a multi-course Cantonese dinner for two at Shang Palace. The menu was created by Chinese Head Chef Cheng Lu for Lang Lang’s recent evening at the hotel and allows guests to enjoy the same dining experience prepared for the celebrated pianist’s visit.
The experience is completed with daily breakfast at IST TOO, the hotel’s international restaurant overlooking the Bosphorus. Together, the elements of the stay offer a thoughtful introduction to Istanbul through its food, culture and connection between two continents.
