What: KIGO, the city’s destination for authentic Kaiseki dining, is celebrating its first anniversary this September. Since opening at Four Seasons Hotel DIFC, KIGO has brought the traditions of Kaiseki to Dubai, led by Chef Akinori Tanigawa’s dedication to craftsmanship, authenticity, and the pursuit of balance in every creation. To commemorate this milestone, KIGO will welcome the return of its acclaimed Autumn Menu, continuing its celebration of nature’s seasonal transitions and the stories they inspire.
The KIGO Signature Sushi Kaiseki 8-course menu opens with delicate preparations including Vinegared Barracuda with Dried Persimmon, Chawanmushi with Grilled Eggplant Chilled Purée, and Grilled Pacific Saury, before moving into Autumn Mushrooms served on a Hōba Leaf. The menu continues with Slow-Braised A5 Kumamoto Black Wagyu, Seasonal Sushi Selections, Miso Soup and premium Japanese fruits, bringing together the flavours of land and sea while allowing each ingredient to speak for itself.

What: Try your first pineapple bun at 852 Bakery, one of the standout projects by acclaimed chef Kelvin Cheung. Pineapple buns are a beloved Hong Kong classic, and despite the name, they contain no pineapple at all. The bun gets its name from the golden crackled crust on top, which resembles the skin of a pineapple. This is one of the only places in the UAE serving truly authentic pineapple buns finished with slabs of cold salted French butter inside the warm bun, and it’s best enjoyed dipped into a hot coffee. While you are there, try one of the bakery’s signature drinks, such as their Hong Kong Milk Tea, Matcha Coconut, Matcha Mango Sago, or a comforting Hojicha Coconut.
