Enjoy Golden Week at The Halcyon Private Isles Maldives this October

This October, The Halcyon Private Isles Maldives welcomes guests for Golden Week, tying into a season built around its own founding idea: that a stay here should restore, not simply entertain. Set within the untouched Gaafu Alifu Atoll in the southern Maldives, the Autograph Collection resort marks the 1st to 7th October holiday, and the Mid-Autumn spirit of reunion that precedes it, with a Michelin-starred culinary residency, dedicated Mandarin-speaking hospitality, and an awe-inspiring programme for its small explorers.

Every guest arriving during Golden Week is welcomed into the season from the first moment, with a specially crafted arrival amenity and a framed photograph to carry home as a keepsake of the family’s own chapter at The Halcyon. Throughout the stay, a curated selection of Halcyon Experiences are offered at no additional cost, from dolphin excursions across the open water to sunset fishing off the resort’s own private isles, each an invitation to slow down rather than an itinerary to keep.

From the 1st of October, The Halcyon welcomes Chef Pascal Steffen of Roots, his two-Michelin-starred restaurant in Basel, Switzerland, for an exclusive residency built on a philosophy of restraint: at Roots, a single root, leaf or shoot is left to speak before anything else. Twice during his stay, on both the 3rd and 8th of October, Chef Steffen will co-create an intimate dinner with The Halcyon’s own culinary team, seating no more than sixteen guests as though at a private table rather than a restaurant, from USD 288 net per person without wine, or USD 388 per person with wine included. Between the two evenings, on the 6th of October, he will also host a hands-on cooking class, inviting guests into his kitchen to learn the techniques and thinking behind his craft, marking a rare pairing of Alpine precision and island soul, the class will be available for USD 188 per person.

That same warmth carries into the everyday rhythms of a stay. A dedicated Halcyon Butler, fluent in Mandarin, attends every guest from arrival to departure, while a specially curated Chinese menu graces the resort’s restaurants under Chef Nico, who spent sixteen years training under masters of Cantonese cuisine across some of China’s most storied hotels before bringing that craft to The Halcyon. Each dish is reimagined through the island’s own bounty, ingredients drawn from its own waters and shores woven into recipes rooted in home, for even at the farthest edge of the world, the resort believes, the warmth of home should never feel far away.

For its youngest guests, The Halcyon’s Young Voyagers Club sets out to encourage children to unite and move through a daily rhythm of discovery. Think dumpling-making, sunrise yoga, treasure trails, coral-themed workshops and stargazing beneath the southern Maldivian sky. The programme stands as a symphony written for small explorers and the families who wonder alongside them.

Whether marked by a Michelin-starred table, a quiet reef at dawn, or an evening spent watching the moon rise over Gaafu Alifu Atoll, Golden Week at The Halcyon Private Isles Maldives extends the same invitation the resort makes year-round: not an escape, but a return.
