Nuska Beach Reopens for a Season of Fire, Sea, and Dry-Aged Flavour

7.6KViews

Nuska Beach at Jumeirah Beach Hotel reopens its doors on Thursday, 15 October, welcoming guests back to its stretch of shoreline beneath Jumeirah Burj Al Arab for a season built around long, unhurried days by the water.

This year, Nuska Beach leans further into its Mediterranean identity, rooted in coastal living, with seaside simplicity, grilling and ingredient integrity at the core of the restaurant. Fifty sunbeds and three private cabanas anchor an extended beachfront, while a beach lounge just steps from Jumeirah Burj Al Arab offers a more intimate spot to unwind.

From 21 October, the soundtrack takes over with a resident DJ setting the tone at dinner from Monday to Saturday and at lunch on Saturday and Sunday. Meanwhile, Thursday to Saturday evenings bring back the immersive spectacle guests fell for last season, as dancers and fire performers share the spotlight.

In the kitchen, Chef Hasan Kayabasi builds the menu around Mediterranean coastal living, open-fire cooking and exceptional seafood. Raw and cured dishes set the tone, led by yellowtail and tuna crudos with citrus oil and coastal herbs, before the fire takes over with a Mediterranean Seafood Grill of lobster, tiger prawns and calamari, made for sharing. A new wood-fired oven brings sourdough flatbreads to the table, topped with combinations such as black truffle and fior di latte, while the catch of the day is presented tableside on a silver tray, inviting guests to choose from the day’s larger, more distinctive cuts.

Dry-ageing, a technique more commonly associated with meat, makes its debut at Nuska Beach and is now applied to whole fish, deepening flavour and refining texture, with the hanging fish becoming part of the venue’s design and storytelling. The Dry-Aged Mediterranean Corvina, served with rock sea bass, lamb’s lettuce and baby potato, is a standout, joined by a selection of premium European dry-aged meats that will evolve through the season. Behind it all is a produce-led philosophy, with ingredients sourced from Italy, Greece, Spain and France, and a menu rooted in fire, sea and olive oil.

Cocktails carry the same sense of theatre, with drinks arriving under clay domes wreathed in dry ice or flamed tableside. Every cocktail has been crafted to complement the menu, to be enjoyed when settling in for a seaside lunch, golden-hour drinks, or dinner under the stars.
