From delicate sashimi to Ruinart bubbles, MEI turns Sunday into a ritual of flavour, music, and connection

MEI, the elegant Chinese-Japanese dining destination at Jumeirah Mina Al Salam, introduces a new weekend ritual with the launch of MEI Sunday Brunch. Set against calming views of the waterway, with the iconic Burj Al Arab in the distance, this brunch is designed as a celebration of flavours, music and connection–an afternoon that invites guests to settle in and savour the moment.

Launching on 23rd November, guests are invited to indulge in an afternoon featuring live performances by a singer, guitarist, and DJ, creating the perfect weekend rhythm in the heart of Jumeirah Mina Al Salam.

The culinary journey unfolds gently, with each course building on the last. It begins with light and vibrant plates – Kaiso Edamame, Seaweed Salad, Crispy Squid, Duck Tacos, and a refreshing Duck Salad. The Dim Sum baskets soon follow, with Prawn Har Gau, Chicken & Prawn Sui Mai, and Mixed Vegetable Dumplings, each delicately crafted.

Then comes the Raw & Sushi Bar, where Salmon Carpaccio, Tuna Tartare, and glistening rolls of Sashimi and Nigiri are prepared with precision. For mains, MEI’s chefs blend modern technique with time-honoured recipes: Buddha’s Delight for a vegetarian balance, Kung Pao Cornfed Chicken that hits the sweet-heat spot, Wagyu Striploin with perfect sear, Crispy Scale Red Snapper, and a comforting Slow-Cooked Lamb Shoulder. Perfect for sharing, the Peking Duck and Whole Seabass with Tamarind Sauce bring the experience to a communal finale.

Plates are rounded out with fragrant Jasmine Rice, fluffy Egg Fried Rice, or tender Baby Pok Choi, and the meal ends just as beautifully as it began with the Chef’s Dessert Selection, an ever-changing showcase of sweet, delicate creations.

To complement the journey, MEI offers three beverage experiences, each crafted to suit the mood of the afternoon. Guests may begin with the Non-Alcoholic Package (AED 425) featuring a mix of mocktails and soft drinks, or elevate the moment with House Beverages Package (AED 550) that includes a selection of premium spirits and MEI’s signature cocktails. For those who love a little sparkle, the Champagne Package (AED 750) includes Ruinart R de Ruinart Brut. With three seatings available between 12 PM and 5 PM, brunch unfolds at a relaxed pace, allowing guests to linger, sip, and savour every course.

At MEI, Sunday becomes more than a brunch. It becomes a pause, a chance to slow down, connect, and indulge in the beauty of the weekend.
