How to Keep Your Skin Radiant, Healthy, and Protected During the Sunny Season

As temperature rises in UAE, Dr. Milena Denisenko dermatologist – cosmetologist and the owner of Milynes aesthetic center at Dubai Creek Harbour shares her expert advice on how to take care for your skin and body during the summer months. From sun-safe skincare to figure-sculpting treatments, these tips will help you maintain a healthy, glowing complexion and feel confident at the beach.

1. Prepare Your Skin for Sun Exposure.
It’s essential to exfoliate the skin before sun exposure—not just moisturise it. Proper exfoliation using gentle scrubs or mild peels such as PRX-T33 helps remove dead skin cells and deep impurities that can’t be washed away by regular gels or foams. This ensures an even tan and allows skincare products to penetrate more effectively.

2. Use SPF Correctly, Sun protection is non-negotiable. Choose a broad-spectrum SPF of at least 50, and apply it 20 minutes before sun exposure to allow it to activate. For the face and neck, use around 5ml (a full teaspoon) and reapply every two hours, as well as after swimming or heavy sweating.

Dr Milena recommends sunscreens that contain both physical and chemical filters. Physical filters form a protective barrier on the skin’s surface without clogging pores, while chemical filters penetrate the epidermis to absorb harmful UV rays. This combination provides optimal protection.

Don’t forget to wash off SPF thoroughly in the evening to prevent clogged pores and potential breakouts. A gentle enzyme powder is ideal for cleansing as it smooths the skin’s texture without irritation.

3. Support a Healthy Tan from Within.
For a radiant, even tan, Dr Milena Denisenko advises increasing intake of vegetables rich in beta-carotene, which supports melanin production and provides antioxidant protection against UV damage. Include carrots, mangoes, peaches, melon, spinach, broccoli, parsley, coriander, and sorrel in your diet for best results.

4. Treat Sunburn with Care.
In case of sunburn, apply soothing and regenerative creams containing panthenol, peptides, or triglycerides. These ingredients help restore the skin’s protective barrier and accelerate healing.

5. Don’t Skip Biorevitalisation.
Biorevitalisation treatments with hyaluronic acid and vitamins are highly effective. Dr Milena recommends to have these aesthetic treatments done before sun exposure in order to hydrate and protect the skin and afterwards to support regeneration. 6. Get Beach-Ready with Advanced Body Treatments.
To prepare your body for the beach, Dr Milena suggests a combined approach:
